Case Study //
Bills Khakis- Pant Supply Outpost
Authentic American vintage has been a passion of mine since my days at RRL—Ralph Lauren in the late ’90s. So anytime I have the opportunity to bring that point of view to a project and collaborate around this style of design, I’m all in.
Â
I’ve been consulting with BILLS KHAKIS for nearly four years, and when the opportunity came to create their first brick-and-mortar location, I was excited to take on the creative direction and spatial design.
Â
We completely gutted the space and transformed a relatively small footprint into an immersive men’s boutique that feels right at home on the Island. A relic tin ceiling, reclaimed wood floors, rich navy grasscloth, vintage industrial furniture, salvaged ship lighting, and reclaimed farm tables establish the foundation. A custom bar cart and vintage sewing machines reference the brand’s tailoring heritage and the founders’ story, while a curated collection of photography in salvaged wood frames celebrates icons of film, music, and American culture.
Â
And of course, if you’ve been following Rogue Creative, you know I couldn’t stop at the space. We developed a custom graphics and merchandise capsule—the Limited Edition: Vineyard Collection—complete with on-product storytelling and supporting marketing to bring the entire experience together.
Â
The goal was never to make the space feel like a recreation of the past. It was about taking the materials, objects, and stories that define authentic American style and putting them together in a way that feels considered, comfortable, and completely at home on Martha’s Vineyard.
Â
When you’re on the Island, come check it out in Edgartown and give the crew at BK’s some love. They’re amazing people, and the product is next-level.
